Getting To and From the Airport

If you’re flying into Boston Logan Airport, the fastest way to get to the Colonnade Hotel is by taxi or Uber/Lyft. Follow signs for “Rideshare App” to make your way to the pickup area. For a taxi, follow signs for Ground Transportation.
If you opt to take the subway, get on the Blue Line toward Bowdoin. Transfer to the Green Line (E branch) at Government Center, and get off at Prudential - right in front of the hotel.
Alternatively, the Logan Express bus leaves hourly from the airport and drops off a short <10 minute walk from the hotel for $3 per person. Tickets and more info can be found here. Details about other transport options for getting into the city are available here.
There are info kiosks in the airport where you can get help and buy any tickets as well!

Spending Time in Boston

Planning to visit the Boston area for time outside of the wedding? Here are some suggestions on how to make the most out of your trip.
Boston is known for being a very walkable city so we encourage you to lace up your sneakers and explore on foot!
Can’t Miss: Red Sox vs. Yankees at Fenway Park on Friday and Sunday night, both at 7:10pm! Get tickets here

History

  • Freedom Trail: This self-guided tour is characterized by its painted red line along the streets of Boston. Start at the Information Center near Park St. Station. Guided Tours of Boston’s history can be found on the Freedom Trail website.
  • Duck Boat Tour: If you want an easy way to spend an hour and a half, taking a Duck Boat tour is a classic and entertaining way to see the city and learn some fun facts along the way.

Outdoor fun

  • Walk the Esplanade: Walk along the park that borders the Charles River. Grab some snacks on Newbury or Charles Street and make a stop at the Gloucester Street dock for a picnic on the water!
  • Kayak rental at Community Boating or Paddle Boston: If the weather is nice, rent a kayak and check out Boston from the view on the water.
  • Harbor cruise: Explore Boston Harbor and its various Islands by boat! To specifically check out Harbor Islands, follow this link.
  • World’s End: If you have access to car, visit Alex’s favorite nature park in Hingham, MA. This park is located 45 minutes away from the city and features rolling hills, meadows, wooded pathways, and rocky shoreline with gorgeous views of the Boston skyline and the Atlantic Ocean. Bring a picnic, if you’d like! World’s End is one of many properties belonging to the Trustees of Reservations of Massachusetts. Advance passes are required, and it costs $10 to park per car. Check out more information here.
  • Mount Auburn Cemetery: For fans of botanical gardens, Mount Auburn Cemetery is the first public garden cemetery in the nation and is home to the burial places of famous Boston families. Grab a coffee and a snack at Sofra just up the street, and take a stroll through the winding paths in the warm weather! This is located right next to where we live and is an activity we love on a warm day.

Indoor fun

  • Museum of Science: Great for the whole family. Explore the many exhibits, catch an immersive movie at the Omni theater, or see a live show.
